“Create Your Own Path”

September 11-14, 2017

Wildwood Springs Lodge- Steelville, Missouri

Mark your calendars for the 2017 AMI workshop at the historic Wildwood Springs Lodge in Steelville, Missouri! The focus will be “Creating Your Own Path” to better interpretation through sessions, keynotes, and field trips. Those who call the Ozarks home, and those who called it home in the past, know exactly what it is like to create their own path.  The rugged landscape of the Ozarks, along with the allure of its rivers and streams and mysterious caves, has drawn people to its beauty for centuries.  The rich forests and rivers were paths to commerce and recreation; sustaining those who chose to stay and make a home there.  For these reasons, the field trips offered this year will focus on our Missouri heritage in the Ozarks.    Be thinking of a conference session that you could present to fit our theme.   Get the Call for Papers form  here->  2017 Call for Papers  Deadline for call for papers is August 11, 2017.

Lodging

Wildwood Springs Lodge was built in 1922 by a group of sportsmen from St. Louis. As was popular at the time, these men planned to develop a resort, complete with lodge and cabins, for their membership to enjoy the beauty and outdoor recreation the Ozarks had to offer.  Upon completion of the Lodge the leading members of the group decided the lodge should be open to the public.  The lodge served several different purposes over the years, but is now once again a popular lodging destination in the Ozarks.

Wildwood Springs Lodge consists of 52 historic rooms. All rooms either have a one full/queen bed or two twin beds.  Rooms vary in cost depending on location within the lodge.  All room reservations come with a complimentary bed and breakfast style breakfast each morning from 7:30 – 9:00 am.  More information about the lodge and its amenities can be found at www.wildwoodspringslodge.com

Important: Because of the smaller number of rooms at this facility, please consider having a roommate if you reserve a room with two twin beds.  This will help ensure our attendees can all stay at the same location.  When you place your reservation, please note with hotel staff you are part of the Association of Missouri Interpreters Conference to get the group rates listed below.
