Conference Theme: Interpretation Through Diverse Lenses

Since this year’s conference will be in the Cape Girardeau/southeastern part of Missouri, our thematic lens idea is sparked by the many facets of trails west of the Mississippi River. Examples of such trails might include those that we travel for recreational experiences, trails that Indigenous people were forced to take after being removed from their homes in the east, and trails that diverse settlers traveled for centuries to make a new life in an expanding new nation. Southeastern Missouri has stories to tell, and it is up to us as Interpreters to connect our audiences to those stories.
Off-theme topics are also welcome. Submission approval is not limited to the conference theme. Please feel free to submit proposals that in any way advance the profession of interpretation.
